THE River Severn continues to rise in Worcestershire as the flooding status is updated for the county.
The Environment Agency issued a new update this morning (Friday) with the flood alert remaining on the River Severn in Worcestershire.
It said the river levels are rising due to recent rain with Storm Eunice currently hitting the country with an amber weather warning placed on the county.
Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury.
Locations that may be affected include Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke, Upton upon Severn, South Quay, Diglis Parade and Hylton Road towpath.
Flooding from drains may also be affecting Worcester Racecourse and Worcestershire County Cricket ground.
Predicted peaks are in Bewdley today where the river is set to reach 3.5m.
Worcester and Diglis peaked overnight with the River Severn reaching 3.6m in the city.
River levels are set to peak at Kempsey Yacht Club on Sunday and is expected to reach 6.4m.

The Environment Agency said: "More rain is forecast over the next few days that may cause river levels to rise further.
"We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Our staff are checking defences.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local rivers, which may be flooded."
The next update is expected at 5pm tonight or as the situation changes.
