COLOURFUL lampshades are brightening up two of the most historic roads in Worcester city centre.
The eye-catching lampshades have been hung over the lights which festoon New Street and Friar Street.
Three Counties Christmas spent Sunday evening decorating the two streets with brightly coloured lampshades.
Sam McCarthy, from Worcester BID, explained they had been put in place to attract visitors and shoppers to the streets.
She said: “The recent installation is the first of many delivered by the Worcester BID this year.
"With the aim to utilise the infrastructure the BID put in place last year within these two historic streets.
"The installations are designed to create a vibrant place and to attract visitors to the area.
"Locals and visitors will be able to see the lampshades until the end of April before the new installation to celebrate the Jubilee and Commonwealth games.”

There were no Christmas lights and bunting along Friar Street and New Street in past years because of a lack of fixing points.
Last year, Worcester BID led a project supported by Paul Collins from Worcester City Council's Planning and Conservation who ensured they were installed correctly with minimal disruption to the historic street.
