A Droitwich woman who assaulted a police officer has been slapped with hundreds of hours of community service.
Lauren Buswell admitted assaulting PC Townsend on July 26, 2020, despite formerly entering a plea of not guilty.
She was convicted of the offence at a previous hearing in November last year but appeared before Worcester magistrates on Monday for sentencing.
The 30-year-old must now serve a total of 150 hours of unpaid, supervised work within the next 12-months.
No victim compensation payment was ordered as based on the report submitted by the defence, the minor injuries the officer sustained during the assault appear to have been caused by a clash of heads as opposed to a deliberate act.
The report also summarised a mark on PC Townsend's left side appeared not to be a bite mark.
However, Buswell will have to pay a £95 surcharge to fund victim services alongside a further £185 in costs.
The total balance of £280 will be paid at a rate of £50 a month until the final payment from February 21.
Magistrates say the defendant's guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.
Lauren Buswell, of Berrill Close, Droitwich appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Monday, January 24.
