Moneeca Rai and Christian Goodall were among the youngsters who helped National Reading Week got off to a flying start at a village school near Worcester.
They are pictured with Wyvern Radio DJ Paul Ellery, who dropped in at Grimley and Holt Primary School in Grimley to take part in the event, designed to promote and encourage reading.
Headteacher Richard Kieran said: "Wyvern visited the school to read with pupils and throughout the week parents and local people will be coming in to school to act as reading partners.
"The children will also be able to tape their own stories, have a visit from an author and take part in a treasure hunt."
