TWO weeks on and police are still trying to catch callous thieves who ransacked a charity shop in Worcester city centre which helps support county people with life-threatening illnesses.
Officers still want to question a man shown in this grainy CCTV footage released a few days after St Richard's Hospice had more than £1,000 in cash, computer hardware, and other items taken during the break-in.
A police spokeswoman said: "Enquiries are still on-going at the moment and that's all we can say."
We previously reported in your Worcester News how the shop in Mealcheapen Street was raided between 5pm on Monday, January 7 and 8am Tuesday, January 8.
The incident caused about £1,600 damage to the property and its contents, including computer equipment and furniture.
Items taken during the incident included a safe, £733.44 in cash, antiques to the value of £100, a Dell hard-drive worth £100, a £50 ring, £50 in cosmetics, a mobile phone, and ornaments.
Police want to speak to the man in the image, who was found loitering close to the shop around the time it was raided. He is described as wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, dark jogging bottoms with white stripes down the sides of the legs with white trainers. He is also carrying a draw-string bag on his back.
Anyone who recognises the person or has any information about the incident should contact police on 08457 444888, quoting 78S/080108.
Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
