DINERS will soon be able to eat aboard an iconic yellow American school bus at a top Worcestershire restaurant.

Toast in Flyford Flavell is in the process of adding the unusual dining room so more people can enjoy the popular restaurant.

There has been huge demand for tables at the dining spot next to The Flyford pub since it opened 18 months ago offering breakfast and brunch.

Toast director Morgan Sanders said: "We are so busy we are having to turn people away and are booking tables two weeks in advance especially for weekend slots.

"The feedback we are getting is that we need to go bigger or get another place so we have been looking around.

"We have been looking for another premises but couldn't find anything, though we are still looking, and decided to expand instead.

"Toast is a very quirky place so we wanted a quirky space and this bus came up.

"There has been a phenomenal response to the bus on social media and I think when it opens it is going to be massive on Instagram.

"It is really going to help with the demand.

"It was very daunting when we opened during the first large lockdown and just got busier and busier.

"We use all local produce and my staff have been absolutely amazing and love being here which comes across to the customers some of which have become really good friends."

Miss Sanders runs Toast with help from her father Dave and mum Helen, who own The Flyford.

The bus will be attached to the restaurant so people will be able to enter it through Toast.

It is able to seat up to 20 people and is being modified to turn it into a dining space while retaining the original seating.

It will mean Toast will be able to go from offering 200 covers in summer and 120 in winter to having 250 covers in summer and 170 in winter.

There is the potential for the bus to be used as a space for private parties such as children's birthdays, baby showers and hen dos.
