The M5 has now reopened after a “police led incident” which occurred this morning.
Junction 2, Oldbury, and Junction 3, Halesowen, were both closed off due to the incident.
The announcement was made this morning at 6:15 am, via the National Highways: West Midlands official Twitter account.
The official tweet said: “The #M5 southbound between J2 and J3 is currently blocked and the M5 northbound between J3 and J2 is in the process of being blocked due to a Police Led Incident.
“More information to follow, thank you for your patience.”
At 6:44am, the same account shared a tweet stating that West Mercia Police had confirmed the scene was clear and safe to reopen.
A spokesman for National Highways: West Midlands declined to comment on the matter, stating it is being treated as a sensitive incident.
