GREEN-fingered volunteers got their hands dirty as they helped to clear out a hedgerow at Warndon Woods Local Nature Reserve.
About four people turned up to help Worcester City Council's wildlife ranger team take part in a hedge and scrub management scheme yesterday.
The event formed part of the ranger team's management of the site in preparation for the spring. Wildlife ranger Heather Bainbridge said: "We did really well and the rain held off so that was really good.
"We cleared back some of the scrub in front of the hedgerow we were restoring." She said volunteers helped restore the hedgerow in an event last year and that clearing back all the scrub now would help to ensure it receives vital sunlight and continue to grow.
