A MAN who stole two screwdriver sets for Christmas presents has been ordered to carry out unpaid work in the community.
Jay Simpson, of St Paul's Hostel, Worcester, admitted the theft when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court.
The court heard how he went in to Aldi on Saturday, December 22, and put two Black & Decker screw driver sets in his coat.
He walked out of the store but was stopped by security.
Twenty-nine-year-old Simpson said he was going to his sister's for Christmas and could not afford presents so he stole the items.
He was ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and told to pay £60 court costs.
