Peter Burkill, the Worcester pilot who safely crash-landed a Boeing 777 at Heathrow yesterday has spoken about the incident at a press conference.
Speaking at BA's headquarters in west London, where he and his colleagues received raputrous appaluse, he said: "As British Airways flight and cabin crew we are trained to deal with emergency situations.
"We have procedures to follow and everyone knows their role.
"We had an outstanding team on board yesterday. I am proud to say every member of my team played their part expertly yesterday."
Captain Burkill praised his co-pilot, John Howard, who was in control of the plane as it made it's landing, saying: "He did the most remarkable job."
