Goldilocks And The Three Bears is the 54th pantomime to be performed by Kays Theatre Group. Now, that's a lot of booing and hissing.
Having done this 54 times before, we would expect Kays to know the ingredients of a good panto and they do. Goldilocks is very much a traditional pantomime. Expect to join in the shouting, the singing and to laugh at the very old jokes. What is great about this show is that it's a panto for a modern audience. We are greeted in Act 1 by Silly Willy (an energetic Julie Fisher) as Boys and Girls, Ladies and Gentlemen - and Chavs. The panto has hit 2008, and Worcester.
Paul Tate has written in some hilarious local references. Performances were noteworthy from principles through to chorus. Dame Donna Kebab (Tony Fisher) kept us amused by his comic timing and outrageous frocks while the love interest was well played by swashbuckling Antonio (Nicola Jones) and charming Goldilocks (Rebeckah Thawley).
Song and dance numbers were frequent and varied allowing the chorus and Harlequin Senior Dancers to strut their stuff.
