There are a number of places in Worcestershire you can get a Covid-19 booster vaccine without an appointment.

The NHS is working on plans to offer a booster dose to everyone aged 18 years and over - and to offer it just three months after your second jab.

But for now, in order to get a booster, it needs to have been six months since your second dose and you need to be one of the following:

  • Aged 40 or over
  • Aged 16 or over with a health condition that puts you at high risk
  • A frontline health or social care worker

You can pre-book a booster dose of the vaccine online via the NHS website or by calling 119 but Worcestershire’s vaccination centres are also offering walk-in sessions on an ad hoc basis, depending on the amount of appointments booked in for each day.

Where are the walk-in centres in Worcestershire?

St Peter’s Church, Worcester, and the Artrix in Bromsgrove have walk-in sessions open until 5pm most days, both for people wanting their booster jab and for those who haven’t yet had their first dose of the vaccine.

The Three Counties Showground in Malvern also opens up walk-in sessions for boosters and first doses when it can.

A new Covid vaccine walk-in centre has opened up in the St Wulstan’s Building at Heart of Worcestershire College. There are no pre-booked appointment slots, instead those needing a first dose or a booster can turn up on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 8am and 8pm.

There’s another dedicated walk-in centre at Worcester University’s City Campus in Castle Road, Worcester. The site is open every Tuesday from 10am to 6pm and again, there are no pre-booked appointment slots available.

As all walk-in sessions are subject to availability, it's worth checking before you head to a clinic. SW Healthcare's walk-in vaccines page is updated daily.
