PERSHORE'S arts centre will be transformed into the Yorkshire moors next month - and roaming upon them will be Cathy and Heathfcliff, ill-fated lovers destined to be apart.

Bringing Wuthering Heights to life on stage at the Number 8 Community Arts Centre will be touring company Heartbreak Productions.

Emily Bronte's classic story of fiery love and wild vengeance is packed with poetry and gothic suspense. Using live music and audience interaction, Heartbreak hopes to recreate the bleak, windswept landscape of Yorkshire and evoke the emotional turmoil of Cathy and Heathcliff's relationship.

Summer 2007 saw Heartbreak Productions visit Worcestershire a number of times to perform The Merchant of Venice, Cry Blue Murder!, The Wizard of Oz and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

Adored by audiences and critics alike, the company's shows have been described as magical, spectacular, riveting, lively, warm evenings out.

Often giving open-air performances, Heartbreak has built up a reputation for productions of revamped classics and shows that are aimed at audiences of all ages.

This production of Wuthering Heights is a new adaptation by Ros Wehner and features a cast of just five.

Tickets, priced £13, are available in advance from the Number 8 box office on 01386 555488 and on the door subject to availability.
