SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury's is building a rapport with the people of St John's and helping them stay on the safe side while the new sports centre, youth centre and store are being developed.
Sainsbury's staff visited Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School in Bransford Road, Worcester, to warn the 194 pupils about the dangers of building sites and keep them informed of the scheme's progress.
Through their interactive talk, which gave the youngsters the chance to dress up in hard hats and safety jackets, they delivered the clear message that children should stay away from the St John's construction site on Malvern Road.
Mark Ireland, Sainsbury's property project manager, said: "We find that by using appropriate interactive teaching techniques, including dressing up in safety clothing, children react well to safety talks. Children are always keen to ask lots of very important questions and we hope that continued programme updates will help keep them at a safe distance."
