A WORCESTER hospice is urging people who take part in running events around the country to raise money for it.

St Richard's hospice is holding its annual reception for marathon runners on Thursday, January 24, at 6pm, in Wildwood Drive, Spetchley Road,.

St Richard's has a team of nine runners competing in the London marathon, and is hoping people taking part in runs such as the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon and the Great North Run will also raise money for it.

The reception is a free, informal evening open to anyone entering a marathon and will give runners a chance to meet others.

Experts from Runaround, the specialist running shop at Top Barn and a footwear specialist, massage therapist and physio will be on hand to share some top training tips. Cannons gym will also be there.

Alison Weston, St Richard's community fund-raiser said: "If anyone has a marathon or half marathon place over the coming year we would love them to consider running in aid of St Richards. We can offer lots of fund-raising ideas and help."

Anyone interested in attending should call the St Richard's fund-raising department on 01905 763963 to reserve a place.
