ROADWORKS causing long queues of traffic on a busy roundabout in Worcester are set to end.

Severn Trent Water has been carrying out work on Blackpole roundabout which has caused lengthy delays.

A spokesman said work to install new connections to their water network had finished and the temporary traffic lights will be removed in the next couple of days.

He said: “We’re really sorry for the disruption that’s been caused by work we’re carrying out near Blackpole roundabout.

Worcester News:

"We’ve been working in the area to install new connections to our water network.

"We’re pleased to say this work is now complete.

"All that’s left to do now is return the road back to normal, before removing the traffic lights we’ve temporarily put in place. Again, we’re sorry for the disruption.”

Long queues of traffic have been building in all directions on the busy roundabout near KFC, McDonald's and Lidl.

Impatient drivers fed up waiting were making U-turns in the road because of the temporary traffic lights on the Blackpole roundabout.

Long queues were building from all directions on Bilford Road, Windermere Drive and Blackpole Road.
