THE family of a woman who died after being hit by a car have paid an emotional tribute to a "beloved mother and grandmother".
Maria Janik was walking along The Tything, near the junction with Castle Street, when she was hit by a black Vauxhall Astra.
The crash happened at about 10.15pm on Saturday, October 30. There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.
She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham where she later died.
Her family has released a statement saying the family is experiencing "deep sadness and mourning" following the 51-year-old's death.
The statement, translated from Polish, reads: "It is with deep regret that on November 1, 2021, the most beloved mother, grandma, daughter, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, died tragically 51 years old.
"For those who would like to go to the scene of a tragic accident in Worcester - The Tything... where flowers can be laid at the place of her last steps."
The family added that the funeral will take place in Tarnowie-Klikowej, Poland.
Miss Janik, from Southfield Street, Worcester, moved from her home country to the city three years ago.
Bouquets of flowers have been left on the corner of The Tything and Castle Street for Miss Janik who worked as a cleaner for several employers.
Officers are continuing to appeal for information and wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured it on dash cam.
