A shaken-up mother says she fears a child will drown after her child's buggy rolled down a 'steep' embankment and into the River Severn.
Sofia Lepre warned it is "only a matter of time before a child or baby drowns", and has called for railings to be put in place all along the river path.
Her husband and seven-month-old baby were out walking between South Quay and Diglis on Sunday, November 7, when her son began to cry.
Mr Lepre lifted their son out of the pram to comfort him, but before he had time to put the brakes on, a gust of wind took the buggy which rolled into the river 'in seconds'.
Despite the best efforts of her husband, and several passers by, the buggy swiftly sank by Diglis Weir along with a handful of treasured effects.
Mrs Lepre, who wasn't there at the time of the incident, said: "The whole length from South Quay to Diglis should have hand rails.
"It has a slope leading into the river so anything with wheels and no brake applied can roll straight in. It’s extremely dangerous and a disaster waiting to happen.
"I can't possibly imagine what would of happened had a baby been in the pram, or the potential disaster that awaits small children scooting close to the river.
"It’s only a matter of time before a child or baby drowns if they slip down that bank.
"It was also a very expensive pram and all the personal effects that were lost were dear to us.
"A few people tried to help us by throwing a life ring to retrieve the pram but to no avail."
A spokesperson from Worcestershire County Council said: "We appreciate that the experience at the weekend will have been upsetting for the family.
"We are working with our colleagues at the City Council to continue to improve the Riverside area of Worcester City."
