PEOPLE living in a city street say they saw police carrying guns in their quiet cul-de-sac.
Police were said to have told residents that they'd had a report that gunshots were heard - though some have now questioned whether fireworks could have been to blame.
Six police cars, and a police helicopter were part of the incident - understood to have been a search of Ambrose Close at around 10pm on Sunday night (November 7).
The police helicopter was filmed in the skies above Dines Green by one eyewitness.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I was woken up by the helicopter.
"I looked out the window, saw an unmarked police car. The next thing I saw another one had turned up, and armed police got out.
"They were carrying guns.
"A policeman came up to my window and said 'have you heard any gunshots? There has been a report that a member of the public has heard gunshots'.
"We didn't hear any gunshots, but then there were fireworks going off'."

Another one said: "They had torches and were looking around obviously searching. There were police dogs as well."
Another resident said: "I shoot myself, I think it was fireworks because I would have recognised a gunshot.
"The police were gone by half 10."
