SPECIALIST firearms officers were deployed to a Worcester suburb after receiving reports of a suspected 'weapon' at a residential property.

Armed officers were called to an address in Larch Road just after midday yesterday (Friday, November 5), where it was believed a weapon may have been present.

However, they later confirmed that no weapons were found at the scene, and no arrests were made.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "Officers attended an address in Larch Road, Worcester, at just after midday yesterday (Friday 5 November) where it was believed a weapon may be present.

"Specialist firearms officers were deployed, and it was later confirmed that no weapons were present. No arrests were made."

Firearms officers also reportedly attended a second incident in Autumn Terrace just after 9pm yesterday evening.

An eyewitness described seeing five police cars arrive on the scene, with armed officers then making their way into a block of flats.

It is not yet known whether these two incidents are related, or whether any arrests were made.

We have contacted West Mercia Police for more information about the second incident, but they have yet to respond.
