WELSH road signs that had popped up in a Worcester suburb have been removed.
Earlier this week a few unexpected signs popped up in St Peters, delivering an important message to drivers - fford ymlaen ar gau.
The bilingual road signs had been placed by the Norton roundabout on St Peter's Drive, with both Welsh and English notices.
The council confirmed the signs were not its responsibility but that of Severn Trent.
Now the motorists of Worcester can rest easy knowing they will not require Welsh lessons to travel safely with parish councillor John Renshaw confirming the news.
He said: "I’m pleased to let you know that the Welsh road signs have been removed and replaced with the more traditional English ones.
"Obviously mistakes do happen and it’s great that Severn Trent and their contractors have taken remedial action so quickly once they were made aware of it."
