TREES on a popular field in Worcester will be checked after a large branch fell on to a path near a school in high winds.
The recent blustery weather caused the heavy branch to fall onto a path in Northwick Road next to the Lodge playing fields.
Council staff will now check all trees on the Lodge to check that no others pose an immediate threat to the public.
The branch blocked the path used by schoolchildren and parents near Northwick Manor Primary School today (Wednesday).
A Worcester City Council spokesman said: “The city council is in the process of removing a large branch that fell from a tree at The Lodge after recent high winds.
"The tree it fell from and others on the site will be checked to ensure they do not pose any immediate threat to the public.”
