A 65-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries after he was knocked off his bike and then run over.
The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The driver of the first car was treated for shock.
Police now want to trace the vehicle which failed to stop after running over the cyclist. They believe he was already injured after being in collison with a red Vauxhall Cavalier seconds earlier.
The incident happened on Worcester Road - at the junction with Albert Park Road - at about 7.26am yesterday.
The Cavalier, which was turning right out of Albert Park Road, was in collision with the cyclist who was riding along Worcester Road towards Malvern Link.
The man was lying in the Worcester-bound carriageway when the second vehicle hit him.
A police spokesman said: "We would particularly urge the driver of the unknown vehicle - and anyone else travelling in it - to come forward as soon as possible.
"Also, as this was a busy commuter period, we believe there will have been a number of people in the area at the time - either with vehicles or on foot - and we would like to hear from anyone who saw anything of this incident."
An ambulance crew and an ambulance officer were also sent to the scene.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The man had been knocked off his bike by a car and we were told by people at the scene that he had been run over as well.
"He had serious head injuries and had marks across the whole of his body consistent with being run over by a car."
The hospital's casualty department was put on alert as the man was transferred due to the serious nature of his injuries.
