A pedestrian in his 30s was taken to hospital with shoulder, facial and suspected chest injuries after he was believed to have been in collision with a car.
The ambulance service was called to Priors Walk in Pershore, just after 7.20pm on Tuesday and sent one ambulance to the scene.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "The man also had injuries to his back consistent with being run over by a car.
"He was suffering breathing difficulties as well."
The man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance and the hospital was put on alert as he was brought in, due to the serious nature of his injuries.
When crews arrived at the scene, there was no vehicle present and no-one else required hospital treatment.
