DRIVERS have been left confused after a speed limit was changed on one side of a road into the city.
A 50 miles per hour sign has been painted on to Ombersley Road near Green Lane, Bevere, in a section of road heading out of the city which usually has a 30mph limit.
Bizarrely, the speed limit into the city was still showing 30mph on road signs at Perrins Way leaving drivers confused about whether the speed had officially been changed or not.

The stretch of road had been 50mph between Green Lane and Claines roundabout until a couple of years ago.
Former city councillor Andy Stafford (Con/Claines) successfully campaigned for the 30mph road to be extended along Ombersley Road to Perrins Way following two new estates being built near the road.
The roadworks were carried out by contractors on Thursday by contractors on behalf of Bellway Homes which has a development along Ombersley Road.
A spokesman for Worcestershire County Council said it would be investigating the errors which it will ask the housing developers to rectify.
Councillor Mel Allcott (Lib Dem/Claines) said a lot of people in the area were very confused by the changes.
"It has caused confusion especially with the new housing estates which is why they changed limit.
"I would advise people to stick to the 30mph speed limit until Perrins Way because that is what all the signs used to say.
"We had a nasty accident before near the farm shop and it is a road where people should drive carefully.
"I think the contractor based it on previous speed limit but the 30mph section was extended a couple of years ago.
"It is a bit of an unusual one because the houses don't back onto the road so Highways didn't have to lower the limit but did it out of good will.
"I have spoken to a Highways officer and they are aware as well.
A county council spokesman said: “The work was undertaken by Bellway Homes, who are the developer responsible for the new housing development on that road.
"We are investigating any errors and will request that these are corrected as soon as possible.”
