A WORCESTERSHIRE professional photographer has published a new book featuring hundreds of picture-postcard highlights from across our historic county.

Michael Whitefoot, who lives near Martley, put together the A4 size, full-colour book, Postcards from Worcestershire, as a souvenir for locals and holiday-makers alike.

“Whether we’re residents or just visiting, there’s no better reminder of the favourite places we’vevisited than a picture postcard,” said Michael.

“I decided to bring together many of my most popularWorcestershire postcard photos into a single volume, to try to create the ideal, permanent souvenir of what is one of the most historic, varied and beautiful counties in England.”

The new book – which adds to Michael’s existing Worcestershire photo-product ranges such as jigsaw puzzles, wall calendars, Christmas cards, tea towels and postcards – contains 180 photographs of iconic county locations, views and landmarks. A number of the images are aerial shots, offering a fascinating bird’s-eye perspective on the scenery below. As well as vistas around Worcester, towns captured in the book include Great Malvern, Kidderminster, Droitwich, Tenbury Wells, Pershore, Evesham, Redditch, Upton, Stourport and Broadway; along with many of their surrounding villages, natural landmarks and attractions. Each chapter begins with an introduction to the areas covered.

Michael said: “I hope this book gives holidaymakers and residents alike some long-lasting memories of their favourite Worcestershire locations.”

Postcards from Worcestershire is available now from selected WH Smith branches, tourist information centres, garden centres, gift and card shops, as well as online at michaelwhitefoot.co.uk.
