DJ SCOTT Mills has revealed his love for an annual festive event in Worcester on Radio 2's PopMaster.

Mills was standing in for Ken Bruce on the radio show when he welcomed a contestant from Worcester on to the popular radio on Friday morning.

While talking to Sarah Lewis, a primary school teacher from Worcester, Mills revealed he loved Worcester's Victorian Christmas Fayre.

He said: "I used to spend a lot of time in Worcester.

"They have the, I used to love it, they have that Victorian market, the Christmas market there which is like a month long, don't they."

Contestant Sarah spoke of her love for her hometown saying: "Yes, it is a good little market, it's a great place to live actually. There's lots of nice things going on here."

"Yeah, I love it," added Mills.

 

 

A spokesman for Worcester Victorian Christmas Faryre said: “We’re delighted to hear that Scott Mills is a fan of the Victorian Fayre and we’d love to invite him to visit this year between Thursday 2nd and Sunday, December 5.”

Sarah revealed she wanted to beat her sister Fiona who only scored three on the show previously.

The primary school teacher however managed to equal her sister answering questions about The Bangles, George Michael and Rod Stewart.

She was up against Thomas Leeming from Lancashire who won with 27 points.

Sarah gave a shout out to her parents, sister and brother and husband as well as staff and students at Holy Trinity School and all the girls at 1st Claines Guides.

Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre will be bringing festive stalls, fairground rides and entertainment to the city centre from Thursday, December 2.

The four-day event will come to a close on Sunday, December 5.

This year there will be almost 200 stalls across the city centre, selling local arts and crafts, delicious street food and gifts.

Victorian characters will be hanging about in 'Gin Lane' while shoppers will also spot entertainers on stilts and musical performances.

Also returning for 2021 is the popular funfair with carousel and big wheel.
