POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for help to trace a man who phoned Crimestoppers in distress but hung up before operators could take any details.
A police spokeswoman asked the man, who called the Crimestoppers number this afternoon (Tuesday, January 16), to contact officers again so they could check on his welfare.
Officers are concerned because the man, thought to be calling from the Huntingdon area of Hereford, was clearly in a distressed state before terminating the call.
Due to the anonymous nature of the Crimestoppers number, officers are unable to trace the call.
Anyone who knows the caller, or the caller himself, can call police on 08457 444 888.
