DEAR Editor – RE the letter from Chris Mitchell (Getting bored of cyclists whining, October 18), I consider his letter to be a real insult to cyclists.
If Worcestershire had cycling infrastructure, members of the public would be much safer.
Just three days after publication of this letter, a cyclist has sustained life-changing injuries in Claines. Three years ago almost to the day, Worcester News reported the death of of a cyclist in Claines, on the A449 roundabout, (October 22, 2018)
I see no evidence of improvements to cycling infrastructure in Claines, in the last three years.
Cyclists are correct to moan as it appears Cllr Alan Amos, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Highways, does not recognise Highways as an infrastructure, for anything other than the car.
Mel Allcott
Liberal Democrat County Councillor, Claines Division
