POLICE have issued an urgent warning for commuters to leave work before an expected downpour at 6pm.
A South Worcestershire police spokesman said the fast-approaching downpour could seriously affect commuting times and make driving hazardous.
He said: "The heavy rain is due over the county at approximately 6pm today and although the downpour is not expected to be prolonged it follows consistent rain and will create considerable surface water and spray, making driving conditions poor."
"If people can at least undertake the bulk of their journey home before the downpour arrives it will be in everyone's interests."
