Christmas is known for being a time when families come together to celebrate, eat good food and maybe even play games or watch a film.
Sometimes though, family circles are incomplete with some of us having to work on the key days of celebrations including Christmas Day and Boxing Day plus the days that surround the two.
Emergency services, hospitality staff and retail workers are just a few groups of employees that could expect to work and miss out on festivities with their families.

But this year, some retailer workers have received some good news.
Wilko has announced that it is set to close all of its stores on Boxing Day this year.
The family-owned retailer decided to go ahead with the plan as it understands how important it is to spend time with family and loved ones.
After a difficult year, all of Wilko’s team members can enjoy a day off on Sunday December 26 to spend with their families.
