A WORCESTER restaurant that had plummeted to a lowly one-star food hygiene rating has turned it round, and now received the highest rating from inspectors.
Thai Gallery Restaurant, on Friar Street, had received the one-star rating - meaning major improvement was necessary - after an inspection on August 19.
The original report into the venue shocked customers after finding the Thai restaurant's hygienic handling of food required improvement, as well as the cleanliness and conditions of the facilities and the building.
But after a reinspection, on October 14, it has now seen a rise to five stars - the top rating given out by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Ratings are judged by FSA inspectors over the standards in the handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and pest control, how food safety is managed and evidence staff know about food safety.
A number of other city businesses have also recently received the five star rating. New five-star city businesses to make the list, and the date they were inspected, are:
- Co-Op, Gresham Road, Dines Green (October 11)
- Lower Broadheath Community Shop At The Bell Inn, Martley Road, Lower Broadheath (October 6)
