CYCLISTS are being warned to stay vigilant after a bike was stolen from an address in Worcester.
The BMX was taken from a drive in Grange Avenue between 11am and 6pm yesterday.
The 'Vibe 247' bike was black with grey and white writing on and is worth £250.
A police spokeswoman said: "This bike was a Christmas present for a paperboy from his grandparents and he has been left very upset following the incident.
"Therefore, we would urge all bike owners to always ensure their cycles are left secure at all times.
"High quality locks and chains should always be used. So often we see bikes worth hundreds - and sometimes thousands - of pounds protected by what can only be described as flimsy security measures, or none at all.
"Even if on your own property, a bike left in sight is at risk of being taken by opportunist thieves and should be stored in a secure shed or garage - out of sight."
Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the times given, or has been offered a bike matching the description for sale, should contact police on 08457 444888, quoting 474/S/130108, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
