A BUSY road in Worcester has been closed today due to an "emergency" tree felling.
Tolladine Road in Worcester has been closed by Worcestershire Highways and Travel due to "urgent" tree safety work by Rose Avenue.
Buses were unable to operate the usual route between Sheriff Street and Middle Hollow Drive due to the works.
Worcestershire Highways posted on Twitter about the incident. The tweet said: "Closure of Tolladine Road #Worcester for urgent tree safety work by Rose Avenue."
First Worcester issued a service update for the number 34 bus, which said the works are expected to go on till 3.30pm.
The post said: "Due to an emergency road closure on Tolladine Road, service is unable to serve bus stops between Sherriff Street and Middle Hollow Drive.
"This is due to emergency tree felling near The Farmers Boy Inn bus stop. This is expected until 15.30."
Worcestershire County Council said the work was to remove dead Elm trees.
