MORE than £1,000 of grants have been awarded to clubs, groups and a school by Powick Parish Council.
The council received five grant applications from the organisations and discussed them at its meeting on Wednesday.
The grants, a total of £1,050, were:
- £150 to the Friends of St Peter's Church, in Powick, which will help towards providing a solid disabled access path to the church, the total cost of which is estimated at £2,800.
- The Powick Brownies will receive £250 for a lockable cupboard, as the previous one was damaged.
- Powick CE Primary School, in Malvern Road, applied for £250 which will pay for a wormery for their ecoclub and teddy bear bins for the school.
- Kiddie Corner, a playgroup in Callow End, was given £200 for a Tykes town house which encourages interactive, real play.
- The Citizens Advice Bureau in Malvern requested £200 to assist in the day to day running of the bureau.
