A housebuilding firm has opened a competition offering Minecraft and Animal Crossing gamers the chance to digitally recreate one of their homes.
The Midlands office of housing developer Redrow, who are currently building at The Orchards off Pulley Lane, have said that they have created the competition in a bid to "discover the talented designers of the future".
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Redrow Midlands, said: "Gaming is a hobby that can sometimes get a bad reputation, yet we know that there are so many talented people out there with exceptional digital ability and a fantastic eye for detail, two skills that are really important in housebuilding.
"We recognise that this talent can, and should be nurtured and championed, which is why we’re keen to encourage gamers to channel this interest positively and consider a career in the construction industry."
Gamers who spend time crafting away on The Sims, Roblox, Minecraft or even Animal Crossing have been encouraged to put their entries forward before the deadline this Friday.
Each entry will be reviewed by an expert panel of judges, including YouTube gaming star, Clare Siobhan, as well as several of the firm's chief directors.
Virtual enthusiasts of all ages can enter, with three categories that range from primary school to 17+ available to separate contestants.
Prizes that are up for grabs include a children’s art vouchers, an MSI Curved Gaming Monitor, Razer Streamer, and a broadcast bundle, as well as the chance to secure a work placement with the Redrow Midlands team.
Entries can be made via social media, tagging @Redrow on Twitter, @Redrowhomes on Instagram, or commenting on the Facebook competition post along with #RecreateRedrow.
Alternatively, gamers can submit their designs by using the following link, www.redrow.co.uk/recreateredrow.
