THE identity of a body found in a pond in a Herefordshire village this morning has been revealed.
Roland Williams had been missing since Tuesday and police officers discovered the 81-year-old man's body about 10.30am today.
The body of Mr Williams was recovered from the pond in the grounds of a house in Much Marcle by crews from the fire brigade.
Mr Williams was described as being in poor health when he left his home in Glebe Orchard at about 11.20am on Tuesday to go for his daily walk to Hellens Manor House.
However, he failed to return so his family reported him missing in the afternoon and police began a search of the local area last night. A police helicopter and police dog handlers were used in the search today.
The coroner for Herefordshire has been informed and a post mortem is due to take place.
