CASH was stolen from a man before he was run over in a horrifying attack outside Mcdonald's in Worcester.

The man in his 50s had a 'significant quantity of cash' stolen from him and was then hit by a vehicle driven by the suspect whilst trying to retrieve it.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics after suffering a fracture to his ankle.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "We were called to an incident at The Cross, Worcester at just after 7.30pm on Monday, August 23 due to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

"Enquiries are underway to locate the vehicle and suspect."
