AN angry resident has said she will fight a parking company all the way to court over a £100 fine for parking in her space.
Laura Armstrong says she was given a ticket on July 19 after parking in her designated space in Diglis apartments.
"My permit accidentally slipped from my dashboard and Parking Control Management (PCM) were quick to hit me with a £100 charge," the 32-year-old said.
"I mistakenly thought that once I explained I was the owner of the apartment that the parking space is attached to, the charge would be revoked - I was wrong."
Laura said she contacted PCM, which manages the resident's car park, but they insisted because her permit had not been on display at that moment in time, she had to pay the charge.
"They came back and said no, it wouldn't be cancelled," she said.
"It doesn't matter if you can prove you have the right to park. It had just slipped off the dashboard - I thought they would be understanding as it was the first time it has ever happened, have a heart.
"The more I have talked to other residents about it, they say 'this is what happens'. A friend of mine (who also lives at the apartments) says this has happened to her twice.
"Some people have said to me why don't I just pay, and let it go. But I don't want to give them any money.
"I'll go to court if it goes that far. I'm really angry this is allowed."
Laura said there was no mention of any need for permits in any lease agreements at Waterside apartments she signed, and she added she couldn't understand the need for the car park to even be managed when it was a gated residents' car park only accessible through a door fob.
The Worcester News contacted Parking Control Management (UK) Ltd for comment but we had no response before out deadline.

In February 2019 we reported on a similar issue, in which Tom Dennison was fined for parking his car in his designated space in Diglis by PCM, after he said his permit accidentally slid down off the dashboard.
