THE number of new coronavirus cases recorded in the county dropped by ten per cent in the last week according to the latest figures.

A total of 1,397 cases were recorded in Worcestershire in the week up to August 4 - falling from 1,540 in the previous week.

The number of cases in Worcester fell by eight per cent in a week to 255 cases and the number of cases in Malvern Hills fell by six per cent to 103.

Elsewhere in the county, 299 cases were recorded in Wychavon, which includes Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich, falling by seven per cent compared to the week before.

A total of 274 cases were recorded in Bromsgrove - a fall of 12 per cent - and cases fell in Wyre Forest by nine per cent to 250.

As many as 274 cases were recorded in Redditch where figures fell by 11 per cent compared to the week before.
