AN 11-year-old girl was approached by the driver of a white van as she walked home from school.
Police want to speak to the driver of the vehicle or anybody else who might have seen the incident which happened near the Talbot pub, Bromyard Road, Knightwick, between 3.20pm and 4pm yesterday.
The girl was walking home from school when a dirty-looking white van, or possibly an estate-type vehicle, pulled up alongside her.
The man in the vehicle offered the girl a lift but sped off towards Ankerdine Hill when the girl ran off.
A police spokeswoman said: "Both the driver of the vehicle and the vehicle itself are very distinctive and we would ask people in the area at the time of the incident to think back.
"Anyone who has any information on the incident, the vehicle or its driver should get in touch with police immediately."
The white male driver is described as being about 40-years-old and bald, with a quite long gingery-blond moustache and goatee beard. He had thick, brown eyebrows and wore quite muddy, tatty clothes. He had an earring in his right ear.
The white van is described as having frosted glass windows halfway along the vehicle and its rear windows were blacked out with plastic bags taped from the inside.
Anyone with information should call police on 08457 444 888, quoting 430/S/070108, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
