THIRTY members and seven visitors came together in Peopleton village hall for the Christmas celebration meeting.

Everyone was greeted with a warming glass of punch which was very welcome on a very cold evening.

We were then entertained by the Peopleton TWITS (The Women's Institute Thespian Society) who presented a Christmas variety show. The compere for the evening, Freda Barnes, and the cast of 10 WI members presented us with an hour long show. Among the acts were the Zimmer Girls 2007, recitations, a saxophone solo and the grand finale of Peopleton youth' singing Another Brick in the Wall. Music accompaniment was very ably supplied by Victoria Simms.

After the entertainment everyone thoroughly enjoyed a buffet supper which all had contributed to, followed by carol singing, a raffle and the giving of secret Santa presents.

Before the evening ended, vice-president Kim Maric thanked everyone who had contributed to making a very enjoyable evening.

She told members that at the January meeting, Sheila Tremelions will be talking about PUPS - a re-homing scheme for puppies and for the February meeting we would all be going for a meal at the Crown in Peopleton.

Peopleton WI meets in the village hall at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Visitors are very welcome.
