The November 14 meeting, being the AGM, was busy especially as the produce show attracted everyone.
President Vicky welcomed everyone, including Pauline Briggs, WI advisor, and Shelia Bishop and Liz Cornish, who were to judge the produce show entries.
There was a most friendly welcome for the Australian WI pen friend of member Penny Sproat.
Thanks were given to everyone who had helped with the jumble sale, which proved successful to give a boost to finances. Eleven members had enjoyed a happy evening at the brine baths.
Preparation was under way for the fashion show.
Secretary Pam Plumridge gave the annual report and the president expressed most grateful thanks to all the committee for their support throughout the past year. The ballot for the new committee was completed and president Vicky was re-elected for a further term of office.
Pam Cummin gave the vote of thanks to the president for all she had achieved during the past year.
Amanda Talbot gave a lively demonstration of her spinning ability and showed excellent samples of her finished work, proving her dedication for her hobby.
The judges of the produce show remarked on the high standard of all the entries and congratulated everyone for their efforts.
The overall winner of the show was Diana Hill, who was presented with the Brooke Bradley Cup, with Carol Watton a close runner-up.
Delicious refreshments followed.
