EXCITED clubbers took to the dancefloor for the first weekend since lockdown lifted.
The atmosphere at Pro-ject's Unit Warehouse rave was described as "electric" as dancing returned following 15 months of restrictions.
The event was a sell out with 200 people packing out the warehouse in Sheriff Street Trading Estate on Saturday night.
All the clubbers had shown proof of a negative lateral flow test to gain entry into the club.
Jay Newman, Pro-Ject's founder, said: "It was amazing.
"We sold out in the end but kept it restricted to 200 people because we wanted to manage it properly to see how people fit into the venue.
"It all went absolutely perfect, there were no issues at all.
"The DJs were amazing, the staff did a great job and everyone had a great time.
"We've had amazing feedback from people on social media."
Throughout lockdown Pro-ject has held a few socially distanced events at Sixways and a pop up at Hanbao in Foregate Street.
However, people had to be sat in tables of up to six and no dancing was allowed.
The weekend marked the first return to 'normality' for nightclubs with no restrictions since lockdown lifted on Monday, July 19, dubbed Freedom Day.
"It was amazing to be back.
"Everyone was on such a good level you could see people were desperately missed dancing."
Pro-ject's next event is It's Just A Disco Freedom Party in the Atique Room at Velvet Nightclub on Saturday.
