THE city’s GP surgeries have been ranked according to how easy they are to get hold of over the phone in a new patient survey.

The results of the latest GP survey - which asked more than 1,300 patients in Worcester for their views shows that some surgeries are performing better than others in the opinion of the people receiving the care.

Farrier House Surgery and St Martin’s Gate Surgery both came top according to the survey with 85 per cent of patients surveyed saying it was easy to get hold of the surgeries by phone.

Coming in at third place, eighty per cent of those surveyed at Haresfield House Surgery said getting hold of the practice on the phone.

St John’s House Surgery was ranked the lowest in the survey with more than half of respondents saying it was not easy to get hold of the practice by phone.

A quarter of respondents said it was “not easy at all” to call St John’s House Surgery.

The annual GP patient surgery, which was carried out by the NHS between January and April in what has been a Covid-dominated year.

Marks for the rest of the city’s surgeries show 79 per cent respondents at Thorneloe Lodge and 78 per cent of those surveyed at Spring Gardens Medical Practice said both surgeries were easy to get hold of over the phone.

This is compared to 68 per cent of those asked at Albany House Surgery, 57 per cent of respondents at Elbury Moor Medical Centre and 54 per cent at both Severn Valley Medical Practice and Barbourne Medical Centre who said they were able to contact their GP surgeries with ease.
