YEAR six pupils are among those missing out on their end of year celebrations as more covid bubbles burst in Worcester.
There are currently 2,290 pupils and staff isolating in Worcester alone after at least one person in their bubble is either awaiting or has returned a positive PCR test.
Across the city, 46 bubbles are closed or partially closed as staff and children isolate.
Worcestershire County Council said the data is correct as of today (July 15) and includes all schools in Worcester, both primary and secondary.
While for some it will mean the summer holidays have come early, for parents of year six pupils asked to isolate it will mean them missing out on farewell assemblies before they move to high school.
Worcester News understands that a year six class at Pitmaston Primary School has had to isolate meaning the children can't mark the end of their time at the school.
Pitmaston Primary, in Malvern Road, declined to comment when contacted by the newspaper.
We reported how 4,373 staff and pupils in Worcestershire had been asked to isolate on Wednesday, July 7.
Nunnery Wood High School has been forced to close until the end of term and children study remotely because of an increase in positive covid-19 tests.
