A CITY pub has closed due to multiple staff members testing positive for Covid-19.
The Farriers Arms in Fish Street has released a message on social media informing people of the expected closure that will last over a week.
The pub announced earlier on it Facebook group page: "Unfortunately the Farriers will be temporarily closed due to multiple staff members testing positive for Covid.
"We will be reopening on Saturday, July 24.
"We apologise for not being able to remain open but the safety of our staff and customers is the most important thing in situations like this.
"We look forward to seeing all your lovely faces in 10 days time.
"Stay safe and social distance."
Last October, Matthew Hooper, from the Farriers Arms Worcester, said his pub had suffered a significant reduction in sales in comparison to the previous year, due to the pandemic.
Mr Hooper said: "Overall, we’re about 60 per cent down on sales compared to this time last year with all of the restrictions in place. It’s not exactly viable."
One of Worcester’s historical pubs, the Farriers Arms has been around since at least 1790.
