AN artist who counts Noel Gallagher as a fan is exhibiting work in Worcester.
Pete McKee's instantly recognisable and vibrant paintings are on show at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum in Foregate Street until February.
The exhibition, entitled A Month Of Sundays, features images which bring back memories of life before plasma screen televisions, iPods and Playstations and portray a wistfully nostalgic world of working men's club and run down seaside towns.
"When you're a child the seaside if a magical place full of noise and fun," said Mr McKee.
"But when you get older they just smell of hotdogs.
"The seaside town comes into its own out of season. Then, the food stalls have closed, the masses have all gone home and all that's left is you, the wind and the odd tea room."
McKee's work was recently shown at the Gibson Guitar Town event in London, which was attended by some of the music industry's biggest names including Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Cliff Richard and New Order.
Each musician chose an artist to handpaint a 10ft fibre glass guitar that would be auctioned for charity.
It was Noel Gallagher who chose McKee. Since then, the Sheffield-born painter has been commissioned by Oasis to produce exclusive commemorative tour posters A Month of Sundays runs until Saturday, February 16. To find out more about Mr McKee visit www.petemckee.com.
