THE new bosses at a village pub are on the hunt for workers ahead of its grand reopening next month.

Major brewers Greene King are looking to fill up to 40 new roles at the Crown Inn in Hallow near Worcester ahead of the popular village pub’s reopening next month following a refurb.

An open day will be held at the Crown Inn’s sister pub, the Fox Inn in Bransford, on Monday, July 19 as part of the search for staff.

Marc Eeley, the new manager at the Crown Inn, said the pub was being given a fresh look with decorators now working ahead of the August reopen.

“The Crown Inn has always been a popular destination for food and drink, which is testament to the way it has been run in recent years, and we want to continue its success as a welcoming community pub,” he said.

“Decorators are currently hard at work freshening everything up to give the pub a contemporary yet traditional look, and we can’t wait to open again in August.”

“The pub will be opening from 9.30am for breakfast and coffee, so we would welcome applications from people who may have previously worked in cafes or coffee shops as well as pubs and restaurants.

“The open day will be held in the barn annexe at our sister pub, the Fox Inn in Bransford, on July 19 from 12pm to 7pm.”

The now withdrawn plans for the pub, which has been closed since Christmas, had promised a bigger bar and toilets, a transformed garden and outdoor seating areas with a new covered pergola and pods for alfresco dining which had led to many complaints from neighbours who feared it would cause havoc in the quiet village.
