A MAN has died after a two car crash in Herefordshire.
The 46-year-old man from Glamorgan suffered fatal injuries in the collision which happened in the village of Wormbridge, near Hereford, just after 9pm last night.
When crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived on the scene they discovered a 14-year-old boy lying on the floor near the two badly damaged vehicles.
The teenager, from Powys, was suffering from facial, chest and a serious back injury and was taken to Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "When crews arrived, they found two very badly damaged vehicles.
"One man was trapped inside one of the vehicles and a teenage boy was lying nearby.
"Crews started assessing and treating both patients. Unfortunately it was not possible to save the man in the car and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
A 25-year-old woman from a village to the south of Hereford, who was driving the other vehicle, suffered an ankle injury and was also taken to hospital.
The cars - a blue Peugeot 106 heading towards Abergavenny and a red Rover 414 travelling in the opposite direction - were extensively damaged and the road completely blocked for eight hours.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to call PC Darren Collett at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888.
